Damage CTRL Could Be Disbanding As Bayley Rumors Swirl

This past Sunday night at WWE WrestleMania 39 night one, Damage CTRL, Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY, came up short in six-woman tag action against reigning WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Becky Lynch and Lita, along with Trish Stratus. It was a devastating loss for a main roster attraction that had seen few big, meaningful wins. As soon as Lynch’s pinfall on Bayley had been counted, many fans began to speculate about what the future could hold for the relatively toothless female stable.

Bayley fueled even more interest in the future of her faction when she took to Twitter following the Mania loss.

“And sometimes the most romantic love story comes to an end,” she began before a short an ominous conclusion, “Bye.”

What could the former WWE NXT, Raw, and Smackdown Women’s Champion mean? Is this the end of her time alongside SKY and Dakota Kai? Or, is she teasing that she’s leaving WWE altogether? To say she hit the proverbial beehive with a baseball bat with her tweet would be an understatement.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that the belief backstage at Raw this past Monday was that Damage CTRL was being broken up. Bayley was in attendance for the show but was asked not to accompany SKY and Kai to the ring for their match against Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan, which they lost.

Furthermore, it was noted that SKY was someone that Vince McMahon fired and never had an interest in bringing to the WWE main roster, despite her popularity in NXT. Once Paul “Triple H” Levesque took control of WWE creative, SKY was given her main roster chance but with McMahon now back in control, someone who had fired her a year ago, her chances at WWE main roster success seem slim.

Before returning to WWE, SKY was said to be entertaining a return to Stardom in Japan. Before she could sign with the promotion, Levesque made contact and was able to offer a big-money WWE deal that Stardom was not able to counter.
