Trinity Fatu Denies Stardom Report And Trains With Former WWE Star

Trinity Fatu has done a good job of keeping a low profile since leaving WWE. The former Naomi infamously walked out of Raw alongside Mercedes Mone, then Sasha Banks, after a creative dispute regarding the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. The two women reportedly left the titles with their soon-to-be former employers before exiting the building and starting off on the next chapters in their lives.

Mone has, of course, found her groove in NJPW and Stardom where she is already a former IWGP Women’s Champion. Fatu, on the other hand, has yet to return to action in the ring. While many fans have clamored for her to be added to AEW’s growing women’s roster, others have longed for her to return to WWE, possibly joining The Bloodline alongside her husband, Jimmy Uso.

Recently, it was reported that Bushiroad, the parent company of NJPW and Stardom, was open to Fatu being brought into Stardom like they did Mone. However, according to the report, the promotion was unable to make a deal with the former WWE star because they did not have the budget to accommodate her. NJPW’s financial losses during the pandemic when crowd restrictions were in place were noted as the root cause.

Following that report, Fatu took to her Instagram Stories to bluntly comment on what was being said.

“NOT TRUE,” she emblazoned over the text.

The former Funkadactyl certainly has some fans convinced an in-ring return appears to be imminent based on some of her recent actions. Earlier this year, she filed to trademark the name Trinity Starr, which looked to be her new ring name. Since that filing, Fatu has dropped the filing with the USPTO and it is currently dead but that doesn’t mean she has stopped dropping breadcrumbs for fans to eat up.

This past weekend, GCW was in Fatu’s backyard in Orlando and, according to Fightful, she popped up backstage to hang out with the wrestlers. There is no word on if Fatu has an interest in working with GCW like AEW star Jon Moxley does, but it is interesting to think about her getting involved with the rugged upstart.

On top of that buzz was a video released by fellow former WWE star Kalisto, aka Samuray Del Sol, showing Fatu training with him in a ring.

“LUCHA!” Fatu started her response to the video. “You’re the best my amigo thank you.”
