CM Punk Officially Announced For AEW: Collision

On tonight’s AEW: Dynamite, Tony Khan’s AEW: Collision announcement, on the heels of weeks of Collision announcements, is that CM Punk is headed back to action as part of AEW: Collision.

“BREAKING NEWS,” AEW tweeted. “As announced by #AEW CEO & GM @tonyrkhan on #AEWDynamite, @CMPunk returns to #AEW on Saturday, June 17 for the premiere episode #AEWCollision LIVE from the @UnitedCenter in Chicago! Get your tickets NOW at http://AEWTIX.com

Punk’s return to All Elite action has been much rumored about, and expected, for several weeks now. As we exclusively reported, Punk had plans to return to the AEW fold as part of Collision, along with his friend, Ace Steel, in a backstage capacity. The night before the Warner Brothers Discovery 2023/2024 Upfront presentation, plans were changed and it was decided that Steel would no longer be backstage for the brand.

Punk and AEW’s legal teams got involved, and miscommunication between them resulted in Punk being pulled from the initial announcement for the show. Now, The Second City Saint is poised to share the screen with Samoa Joe, Thunder Rosa, Andrade El Idolo, and other stars that haven’t seen AEW screen time in some time.
