Miro Convinced CJ Perry That Fight With CM Punk Was Real – Exclusive

Last month, Tony Khan and AEW terminated their contracts with CM Punk following an internal investigation into a backstage altercation at All In. The altercation saw Punk and Jack Perry exchange words and blows following the former Jungle Boy’s pre-show match. However, that was not the only Punk-related backstage altercation that was rumored to have taken place at All In. Word emerged shortly after the show that Punk nearly came to blows with Miro in the trainer’s room following his match. In the end, the story was debunked as Punk and Miro are good friends, and while they joked about getting into a backstage fight, that is all it was, a joke.

In an exclusive Haus of Wrestling interview, CJ Perry, former WWE star Lana and Miro’s real-life wife, gave her thoughts on how the wild story took hold and gained traction.

“There’s so many parts of that story that’s outrageous,” she laughed. “Well, first thing is, I didn’t know about this story until it was blowing up online. And that’s when Miro decided to tell me about it, and I was like, ‘What is happening right now?’ And I was like, ‘Why are you picking a fight with him? Why?’ I stay off Twitter a lot. I just really don’t try to; in WWE, I would stir the pot a lot because I felt like that was my character, but that’s not really my nature. I mean, maybe sometimes, it’s a lot of fun.

“But I was like, ‘What are you doing?’ You know? Like, ‘Why? Why? Why are you doing that?’ And then also, there’s a part of me that knew I was debuting, I’m like, ‘Oh, God. Can we just lay low, please? Can we just like lay low? And you’re gonna be picking at the showrunner? Are you insane?’ So, I was getting hot. And then, the next thing I hear is Miro was pissed that CM Punk went to the dirt sheets and said he was joking.

“And I’m like, ‘Were you joking?’ He’s like, ‘Yeah.’ I’m like, ‘Wait, what?’ So then for, like, five hours or until that time, he was selling the whole story to me like it was real. Selling it to me like it was all real. And I’m like, ‘So, wait, you’re telling me it was a joke?’ He tells me the story of how CM Punk is like, ‘Do you have a problem with me?’ He’s like, ‘Yeah,’ and CM Punk goes, ‘You want to fight?’

“Miro goes, ‘Here, or in the ring?’ I’m like, ‘You’re telling me that was a joke?’ He’s like, ‘Yeah.’ I’m like, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me right now.’ He’s like, ‘Oh, I forgot you take everything literal, CJ.’ I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I’m done. I’m literally done.’ So he finds it really funny that I believe everything.”

Perry officially made her AEW debut at All Out, coincidentally the day after Punk’s termination. Her return came with a twist, as she and her husband were not on the same page after she offered him an olive branch in the ring. She will now be taking her managerial skills elsewhere while expanding her empire. One big part of that empire is her new site, CJPerry.com, which she was happy to give details on.

“I actually just started a new tier; it’s called the Hot And Flexible tier,” she said. “Lots of spicy hot stuff, as well as discounted DMs; you can get a very good deal there. And then also, what I’m really excited about, a couple of things, is one is showing a lot of BTS from AEW. So, if you’re just a wrestling fan, it’s also, I’m giving a lot of that of showing the inside scoop, putting out vlogs, putting out a lot of footage on there. So, that’s really exciting.

“I’m really loving that and just to connect, and if people have questions or want to see things more of inside the world of wrestling, that’s the place that subscribe to is the Hot And Flexible tier because I will answer it not in a working character mode, as well, as you know, just show you things that I’m not going to put out on YouTube for many reasons, but I will on CJPerry.com.

“So that, and then once a month, we have a Zoom session, which is really exciting. So, I think it’s a great deal. It’s like meeting me, almost. And right now, we’re doing a very special set sale. If you subscribe now, you will end up getting a signed free item. It can be an 8×10, a trading card, merchandise, action figures, so subscribe because there’s all that coming.”
