Ahead of tonight’s edition of WWE Raw, the Alpha Academy laid out an open challenge, eventually to be answered by Julius and Brutus Creed of WWE NXT. Making their main roster debut, the Creed Brothers (accompanied by Ivy Nile) picked up a surprising victory against the already-established team of Chad Gable and Otis.
The athletic ability and technical wrestling prowess of Julius and Brutus were on full display tonight, including Julius impressively lifting Otis in an Electric Chair. Both teams offered up excellent sequences of technical wrestling, and Nile even delivered a suplex to Akira Tozawa, who has started accompanying Alpha Academy. In the end, a Brutus Ball on Otis set Julius up for the win.
It doesn’t sound as though this will be a one-off appearance for the Creed Brothers, if that wasn’t already evident from their victory. According to Dave Meltzer on this morning’s Wrestling Observer Radio, the duo are expected to be officially brought up to the main roster from NXT. With Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa set to make their DIY reunion official on tonight’s Raw as well, the brand’s tag division seems to have received a fresh jolt of energy.
