AEW Collision Draws Second Lowest Key Demo Viewership Ever

This past Saturday night’s episode of AEW Collision was capped off by a huge eight-man tag team match that saw FTR team with Los Faccion Ingobernable. The two notable pro wrestling entities defeated new AEW Tag Team Champions Ricky Starks and Big Bill, who were teaming with Mogul Embassy’s The Gates Of Agony. It was a big match that capped off a two-hour show that included Mark Briscoe returning to action and The Acclaimed celebrating their sixty-ninth day as AEW World Trios Champions.

Wrestlenomics reports that the latest episode of AEW Collision drew an average of 366,000 overall viewers, with about 116,000 in the coveted P18 – 49 demo most attractive to advertisers. It was down 22% in overall viewership and down 34% in P18 – 49 viewership from the week before. This is the third-lowest overall viewership for an episode of AEW Collision and the second-lowest in the P18 – 49 key demo. Unlike previous AEW Collision episodes that took a viewership hit due to running head-to-head with WWE premium live events, WWE Crown Jewel aired earlier in the day and did not run head-to-head with Collision.

The highest viewership for the latest episode of Collision took place during the one-minute overrun. The extra sixty seconds of the show drew an average overall audience of 410,000 viewers, with about 182,000 of those in the P18 – 49 demo. That short period included appearances from The House of Black and Blackpool Combat Club.

The lowest overall viewership came during the seventh quarter-hour, which saw the end of Willion Nightingale versus Emi Sakura and a backstage angle between Samoa Joe and Keith Lee. That quarter drew an average overall audience of 346,000 viewers, with about 109,000 in the P18 – 49 demo, the second lowest quarter hour for the key demo. The end of the seventh quarter-hour saw the main event begin, and viewership rose steadily during the contest.

Already announced for this week’s AEW Collision is Darby Allin, Sting, and Adam Copeland teaming up to take on Lance Archer and The Righteous with Jake “The Snake” Roberts. The team of Allin, Sting, and Copeland will also take on TNT Champion Christian Cage, Luchasaurus, and Nick Wayne later this month at AEW Full Gear.
