Former TNA and Impact Wrestling President Dixie Carter is present at tonight’s WWE Raw live taping. Carter posted four pictures to Instagram, showing herself alongside Chelsea Green, Drake Maverick, Bruce Prichard, Nick Aldis, and Cody Rhodes. It’s safe to assume that Carter’s appearance backstage is nothing more than a visit, as the former Impact owner has been out of the industry for a number of years, and the show is taking place in her hometown of Nashville, Tennessee.
Though Carter isn’t actively involved in wrestling, her legacy still looms large. Not only is Impact Wrestling still in operation, but the company is actively preparing to make the switch back to the old TNA branding. There hasn’t been any indication yet that Carter is set to be actively involved in TNA, but as this weekend has shown yet again, never say never in the world of pro wrestling.
Carter isn’t the only big name present at tonight’s Raw. The show opened with a promo from Randy Orton, who returned to the company on Saturday after a year-and-a-half on the shelf. Even more shockingly, WWE Survivor Series WarGames saw the return of CM Punk – something that many never saw happening, while many others felt certain was coming. Tonight’s Raw also included the debut of a new theme song by Def Rebel.
