Earlier today, Mustafa Ali, who was released by WWE in September, put out a video on social media in celebration of becoming a free agent. In the video, he teased matches with notable names like Kazuchika Okada, Alex Shelley, Matt Cardona, “Speedball” Mike Bailey, and more. The first promotion to get word out that they had booked the hot free agent was PROGRESS Wrestling in the UK, but in the short time since, many other promotions have put out announcements as well.
Below is the full list of announced appearances and matches that Ali is booked for.
- January 12 in Chicago: GCW (facing Gringo Loco)
- January 19 in Ottowa: C*4 (no opponent announced)
- January 20 in Quebec City: North Shore Pro Wrestling (no opponent announced)
- January 28 in Camden: PROGRESS Wrestling (no opponent announced)
- February 9 in Seattle: DEFY (no opponent announced)
- February 10 in LaSalle, IL: Dreamwave (facing El Hijo de Vikingo and Gringo Loco)
- February 25 in LA: Prestige Wrestling (facing “Speedball” Mike Bailey)
- March 4 in Chicago: Revolution Brewery (facing Trey Miguel)
Other former WWE stars who became free agents today include Shelton Benjamin, Nic Nemeth, Elias, Top Dolla, and Matt Riddle. MLW has already confirmed that Riddle will be returning to the promotion at Kings of Colosseum next month at the 2300 Arena. He will take on Jacob Fatu in a first-time-ever match.
