CM Punk Updates Heading Into The Road To WWE WrestleMania 40

CM Punk made his triumphant return to World Wrestling Entertainment at Survivor Series, months removed from his controversial exit from All Elite Wrestling. For those unaware, Punk was involved in a backstage altercation with Jack Perry at All In, and after an internal investigation and advice from his discipline committee, AEW President Tony Khan chose to terminate the former WWE and AEW World Champion. In the wake of his arrival in WWE, a handful of WWE stars expressed their frustrations at his return to the locker room.

Drew McIntyre stormed away from the WarGames ring before The Second City Savior’s music even hit at Survivor Series, and has aired his grievances toward him on WWE Raw. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freaking” Rollins fell short of stomping to the back when Punk arrived on the scene, but while holding his ground ringside, did level him with a slew of expletives. Much like McIntyre, Rollins has also told Punk to his face how he feels about him in a promo exchange on WWE Raw.

This coming Monday night on WWE Raw, CM Punk will come face-to-face with fellow former WWE and AEW star, Cody Rhodes. The two men teased a confrontation shortly after Punk returned to WWE, but they have yet to share promo time like McIntyre and Rollins got. As Rhodes looks to win the Rumble one more time and main event WrestleMania, like Punk is hoping to do, the exchange promises to be nothing less than must-see-TV for pro wrestling fans.

Beyond WWE Raw this Monday, WWE has also confirmed that Punk will be at the Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia on February 24. WWE’s full announcement regarding his appearance reads as follows.
