Earlier today, it was reported that WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER is the internal favorite to win the men’s Royal Rumble match. If the leader of IMPERIUM is successful, as he predicts, he will likely face off against WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freaking” Rollins in the WWE WrestleMania 40 Night One main event. That scenario would also take other big WWE Raw names like Cody Rhodes and CM Punk out of the main event picture, at least for the time being.
GUNTHER has now taken to X to piggyback off the buzz around him winning the Rumble.
“I am going to win the Royal Rumble, this Sunday 2am CET,” he wrote.
Included in the post was the video of his confrontation with Rollins from this past Monday’s WWE Raw. Prior to their promo exchange, Rollins confirmed that he was injured but would be working toward competing at WrestleMania anyway.
“So, from one great champion to another great champion,” GUNTHER told Rollins. “On Sunday, I’m going to win the Royal Rumble, and I’m going to choose you as my opponent for Wrestlemania. But with all due respect, I’m going to target your knee. I’m going to target your back. I’m going to target everything that’s not 100%, and I will beat you and become the World Heavyweight Champion.”
