TKO Confirms Vince McMahon Resignation In SEC Filing

This past week, a horrifying report was published by the Wall Street Journal detailing allegations by a former WWE employee, Janel Grant, against Vince McMahon. Grant alleges that McMahon groomed her to be sex trafficked to other WWE executives and WWE stars, with John Laurinitis and Brock Lesnar being named. McMahon, through his attorney, has denied the allegations. Not long after his denial, word that McMahon had resigned from all his positions with TKO Group Holdings and WWE began to emerge.

Earlier this morning, in their most recent SEC filing, TKO Group Holdings included the following:

Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

On January 26, 2024, Vincent K. McMahon notified the board of directors (the “Board”) of TKO Group Holdings, Inc. (“TKO”) of his resignation from his positions as Executive Chair and a member of the Board, and any other positions, employment or otherwise, he has at TKO and its subsidiaries, in each case, with immediate effect as of January 26, 2024.

During the post-WWE Royal Rumble media scrum, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque was asked by Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston whether or not he had read Grant’s 67-page lawsuit detailing her allegations.

“I did not,” Levesque responded. “I think Cody mentioned that we all found out in real-time when you were, and that’s the truth. I’ll go back to what I said before: this is an amazing week for us. And I just, at this point, I don’t even want to get bogged down in the negatives of it. I just want to focus on the positives and where we’re going and we’re at the most exciting time of the year for us.

“We’re at the most exciting point, to me, business-wise, I think that we’ve ever had. I think Cody might have said the the; I don’t exactly remember how he said it, but the best positioning of this company since The Attitude Era. I’ve been through that era. I understand what it’s like; I feel like we are in the middle of something that, while we might not be able to put our finger on it right now.

“Five to ten years from now, we’re going to be saying like, ‘Wow, what a time that was.’ I want to I want to focus on that.”
