Cash Wheeler Has New Hearing Set Regarding Aggravated Assault Charge

Last summer, AEW star Cash Wheeler, aka Daniel Wheeler, turned himself in on a warrant for an alleged aggravated assault with a firearm charge. He was given a $2,500 bond, ordered not to make contact with the alleged victim, and was forced to hand over all of his firearms. There were concerns that his arrest would not allow him to travel to London for AEW: All In, but he was able to make the trip, and FTR defeated The Young Bucks.

According to Orange County Clerk court records, prosecutors have scheduled a new hearing in Wheeler’s case for Tuesday, February 20. If convicted, the maximum penalty in Florida for a first-time offender is five years in prison, five years probation, and a $5000 fine.

FTR lost the AEW World Tag Team Championships to Ricky Starks and Big Bill on the October 7, 2023 episode of AEW Collision. The decision to drop the titles to Starks and Bill was reportedly FTR’s idea, and was not done due to Wheeler being injured, he was not. FTR teamed with Daniel Garcia this past Saturday night on AEW Collision, picking up a win over The Patriarchy’s Christian Cage, Killswitch, and Nick Wayne.
