Late last night Vince McMahon resigned from all his WWE positions following a horrifying Wall Street Journal report detailing allegations by a former WWE employee, Janel Grant. Among the many lurid details, Grant alleges that McMahon groomed her to be sex trafficked among WWE executives and talent, naming John Laurinitis and Brock Lesnar specifically. Prior to McMahon removing himself from WWE, Slim Jim, a main sponsor of the Royal Rumble, ceased its promotional activities, but resumed their sponsorship after his exit. Now, former WWE and UFC star Ronda Rousey has taken to social media to call out another WWE executive.
“Bruce Prichard is basically Vince’s avatar, if he’s still around Vince still has a hand in the business,” she wrote. “Vince was still running things through Bruce when he was ‘gone’ before”
Prichard currently serves as the Executive Producer for both WWE Raw and SmackDown. He was initially hired by the company in 1987 and served as an on-air character, Brother Love, for several years. Notably, he was The Undertaker’s first manager before Paul Bearer took on the role. Prichard was released by the company in 2008 and went on to work for TNA and MLW before returning to WWE in 2018. Based on the timeline laid out in Grant’s suit, Prichard would have been actively with the promotion throughout her ordeal.
WWE presents the Royal Rumble tonight and Lesnar will reportedly no longer participate following the allegations made by Grant. The sports entertainment juggernaut will host a post-show press conference, which I will be attending, and the allegations against McMahon, and the company, are expected to be addressed further.
