Paul Heyman Fires Back At Conor McGregor Following WWE Tease

Conor McGregor is already stirring the pot regarding a new report that WWE could be set for an acquisition that could see it merge with UFC. The cocky Irishman took to social media shortly after the news broke to praise the budding partnership and is now adding further fuel to the fire, sharing a doctored photo of him holding both UFC and WWE Championships.

“@wwe, @ufc, @TheMacLife #itsinevitable,” is what McGregor captioned the photo, adding emojis of the Irish and American flags alongside it.

McGregor’s tweets have not gone unnoticed by everyone in WWE, as The Tribal Chief’s advocate and “wise man” has officially responded to the former UFC Champion.

“@TheNotoriousMMA is a @WWERomanReigns wannabe!!!” Heyman bluntly stated.

And with that, two of the most loquacious speakers in sports and entertainment are now officially up in each other’s timelines. It’s fascinating to think about the possibilities that could exist with the two men at odds in WWE. While Heyman is currently aligned with Roman Reigns, if The Bloodline leader does fall to Cody Rhodes tonight, it could reportedly result in him leaving WWE TV for a significant amount of time to recharge his batteries.

With Reigns possibly out of the picture, a potential repackaging with Brock Lesnar could be on the table unless The Beast decided to take a break after WrestleMania as well. If not, a big “David vs. Goliath” money could be on the table if the light heavyweight and superheavyweight were ever to square off in a WWE ring. There’s also a variety of WWE stars without legitimate MMA backgrounds that would welcome time working with McGregor, including Sheamus who has mentioned it on several occasions in the past.

WWE’s sale and a potential merger with UFC have not been made official but based on a CNBC report coming out today, the move could happen as soon as tomorrow. A move that would echo Endeavor’s acquisition of UFC, which happened the day after UFC 200.
