Ronda Rousey Rumored To Be Eyeing UFC 300 Return

Ronda Rousey is seemingly done with WWE once more following her SummerSlam loss to Shayna Baszler. The Baddest Woman On The Planet came face-to-face with her former friend in Detroit earlier this month but suffered a submission loss in the bout, her first since debuting for the promotion in April 2018. Since then, Rousey has been entirely absent from WWE programming and is rarely referenced by Baszler and the company’s commentary teams.

Rousey has kept quiet about what’s next for her professional career but a new report suggests she is considering a return to her old stomping grounds in the world of mixed martial arts. The Daily Mail reports that the multi-time WWE Women’s Champion wants one last fight in the UFC before winding her career down to focus on her family, per a close confidant of Rousey.

“She just had a match at Summer Slam and is looking to wind down her time and commitments with the WWE,” the confidant stated. “She is now focusing on potentially making a run to have one last fight in the UFC and compete at UFC 300 when that presents itself sometime next year.”

They went on to say that Ronda is also considering more roles in TV and film but warned that both plans could be put on hold by her having another child. Rousey is said to feel that having a second child is “one of the most important things to happen for her” following the birth of her first child La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō Browne in September 2021 and is eager to try for a second.

However, UFC President Dana White shot down any possibility of Rousey returning to the promotion in an interview with Sports Illustrated earlier this month. “There’s no shot,” White declared. “She’s accomplished everything she set out to do. Her dream was to win a UFC championship, then win a WWE championship, and she’s done it. Now she’s starting a family. Ronda has made so much money, and she’s still making a lot of money in sponsorships.”
