The Young Bucks Close Out First AEW Collision After CM Punk Release

All Elite Wrestling presents AEW: All Out tomorrow night from The United Center in Chicago, IL. The big event was expected to feature CM Punk as the centerpiece of the show, but due to a backstage altercation at All In, Punk was terminated by the promotion earlier today. The Second City Saint’s locker room issues have persisted for over a year now, with the drama put on full display at last year’s All Out media scrum. During the press event, Punk laid into members of the press and made clear his issues with Colt Cabana and AEW management, primarily The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega.

After the scrum, an altercation took place that resulted in Punk, The Bucks, and Omega being stripped of their respective AEW titles and taken off TV. All returned over time, but tensions continued to linger as both sides were never able to sit down and talk things out, something Punk was open to, and The Elite camp was not. This was made most apparent the week before AEW: All In London when a meeting between the two sides was planned but not followed through on after The Elite’s camp called it off.

With that all in mind, The Young Bucks made their AEW: Collision debut tonight, helping to run off Bullet Club Gold as they attacked FTR. Following the save, The Bucks, who were being booed heavily in front of the Chicago crowd, offered the AEW World Tag Team Champions a handshake but were left empty-handed as FTR walked out of the ring. The two teams will attempt to work together tomorrow night as they take on Bullet Club Gold in multi-man action.
