Sami Zayn Possible Victim Of Entrance Theme Botch On WWE Raw

After a week away from TV, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens returned on tonight’s WWE Raw. However, fans may have noticed something different about the duo’s entrance – they came out to Zayn’s prior theme music, used back when the character was a heel. Though the team proceeded with their entrance as normal, Zayn did reference the change once he was able to grab hold of a microphone.

“Haven’t heard that song in a minute,” Zayn said before moving on to other matters.

It’s not yet clear whether the change in music was intentional or not. Zayn’s comment seems to suggest it was not, but that could have been in character. Since Paul “Triple H” Levesque took over control of WWE’s creative last year, there has been an increased use of easter eggs and teases, and this change could fit into that category. Additionally, the official X account of the USA Network referenced the moment, possibly lending some credence to the idea that it was planned.

Zayn and Owens were entering the arena to confront newly-minted Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso following their victory against The Judgment Day at WWE Fastlane on Saturday. Having just lost the titles to Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio a few weeks prior, Owens was adamant about himself and Zayn receiving a rematch. The new champions obliged, and the title shot was set for tonight’s main event. With the two scheduled to have another entrance before the end of WWE Raw, it should become clear whether the change in entrance music was purposeful or an accident.
