AEW Dynamite To Join WWE NXT In Running Commercial-Free

Tomorrow night is shaping up to be a big one for both AEW and WWE. On one side, WWE NXT is bringing in some big guns, such as John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Asuka, Paul Heyman, and possibly even The Undertaker. Earlier today, it was also revealed that the first 30 minutes of tomorrow’s NXT will be commercial-free.

In response, it was reported today that the special Title Tuesday edition of AEW Dynamite was approved for a 10-minute overrun. However, it doesn’t seem AEW co-owner Tony Khan will stop there. Taking to X this evening, Khan revealed that Dynamite will run commercial-free for the first half-hour, going directly against NXT minute-by-minute.

Both companies have major matches and appearances announced for tomorrow’s shows. Adam Copeland will make his in-ring AEW debut by wrestling Luchasaurus, and his former tag partner Christian Cage will undoubtedly be involved in some way. A new number one contender to the AEW World Championship will also be decided when “Hangman” Adam Page of The Elite takes on Bullet Club Gold’s “Switchblade” Jay White. Elsewhere on the card, Hikaru Shida will challenge Saraya for the AEW Women’s World Championship, while Bryan Danielson and Swerve Strickland will compete to become the number one contender to the TNT Championship, currently held by Cage. Additionally, Chris Jericho will wrestle Powerhouse Hobbs after Hobbs allied himself with The Don Callis Family last week.

NXT is set to include a match between NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes and former champion Bron Breakker. Cena will be in Hayes’ corner, while Heyman will support Breakker. Asuka is set to face Roxanne Perez, while the Brawling Brutes will come down to NXT, teaming up with Tyler Bate to face Gallus in a Pub Rules match. Lastly, Rhodes is set to make some sort of major announcement during the show.
