AEW star CJ Perry, formally Lana in WWE, has been dealing with a scary medical ordeal for the last three days. As she has described it on social media, it began with a small scratch on her finger that became infected. Over fifty hours in the hospital, the infection continued to spread, and last night, she announced she was heading in for surgery. Earlier today, Perry’s husband, fellow AEW star Miro, gave fans some good news on his Instagram Stories.
“Out of surgery @thecjperry,” he wrote on top of an image of her recovering in the hospital with her hand wrapped in gauze. “Time to eat,” he added, on top of a Crumbl party box.
It is good to see Miro having his wife’s back during this difficult time, which starkly contrasts the way the pair has been presented on AEW TV. At the moment, Perry is managing Andrade El Idolo while her husband continues to make noise about how he would prefer she be home and not at his place of work. Perry spoke with Haus of Wrestling earlier this year and explained that the kinds of stories fans are most attracted to with them are the ones that see them at odds.
