CJ Perry Provides Post-Surgery Update On ‘Deadly Infection’

Concern has been raised for CJ Perry, the former Lana in WWE, who has been hospitalized with a serious infection over the last few days. This past weekend, she revealed she had been admitted to the ER after an infection she contracted through her hand had subsequently spread to the rest of her right arm.

Two days later, she posted an update revealing that her condition had continued to worsen after more than 50 hours in hospital and asked for thoughts and prayers as she was heading into surgery. Thankfully, it appears the procedure went well as her husband Miro posted a photo of her smiling in her hospital bed with her hand wrapped in gauze alongside a Crumbl party box to his Instagram Story.

Now Perry herself has taken to Instagram to provide an update on her condition. Accompanied by a video of her eating following the surgery, the AEW star revealed that the infection, which she described as both “fatal” and “deadly”, stemmed from a cut she suffered backstage at AEW Dynamite last Wednesday and urged everyone to take care of any injuries of that nature as they could develop into something far more serious.

“I have been in the hospital since Saturday fighting a fatal infection that came from getting a small splinter backstage at work this past Wednesday,” Perry wrote. “Please keep me in your prayers. And everyone really take care of any cuts you get. As small as a splinter can turn into a deadly infection. Love all of you guys and thank you to everyone who has reached out.”

Perry has been acting as the manager of Andrade El Idolo as of late and was meant to accompany him over the weekend at a CMLL event as well as AEW Collision, but was forced to miss both appearances due to her infection. Haus of Wrestling sends all the best to her as she continues to recover.
