Sami Zayn Confirmed For WWE Live Events Amid Rumored Hiatus

Earlier this month, Sami Zayn engaged in a heated promo exchange on WWE Raw with Drew McIntyre that incensed the Scottish Superstar. McIntyre proceeded to defeat Zayn in one-on-one action but took his aggression even further when he attacked the former The Bloodline member backstage. McIntyre targeted Zayn’s knee, which he was selling during their match earlier in the night, which, in storyline, took him off WWE TV for a few weeks. In reality, Zayn reportedly requested time off, which was granted, but he was expected to miss some major holiday shows, like the one in Montreal this week.

Despite fears from Canadian fans that they may not get Zayn for the holidays, he has taken to social media to confirm he will be in action at several WWE Holiday Tour live events.

“I WILL be performing on WWE’s Holiday Tour,” he began. “5 great cities in 5 nights to end 2023, the wildest year of my career.

Tonight – MSG. New York City

Tomorrow – Boston

Dec 28 – Montreal

Dec 29 – Toronto

Dec 30 – Los Angeles

Crazy times. Lots of love. Thanks for letting me play x”

There is no word on who Zayn will be facing on these shows, but it is possible he will face off with McIntyre.

We do know that CM Punk will be in action at tonight’s big MSG event. Punk, in his return WWE match, will take on The Judgment Day’s “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio. The two men have exchanged jabs on social media ever since The Second City Savior made his comeback at WWE Survivor Series. For those unaware, more than a decade ago on SmackDown, Punk interrupted Rey Mysterio’s birthday celebration, which Dominik was present for. The two men have been playing into their long history, and considering the dynamically different reactions the fans are giving them, their match tonight should create a lot of noise.
