Adam Cole Unveiled As The Devil After MJF Loses AEW World Title

After months of rumors and speculation, the identity of the AEW Devil has finally been unveiled. The reveal took place following the main event of AEW Worlds End which saw Samoa Joe shockingly end MJF’s 406-day as AEW World Champion. Despite support from Adam Cole at ringside, MJF was dominated throughout most of the contest by the challenger and after just over twenty minutes, Joe choked Friedman out with the Coquina Clutch to become the 7th AEW World Champion in history.

The surprises didn’t end there though. As MJF and Adam Cole processed the loss inside the ring, The Devil’s Masked Men appeared and quickly subdued both men. As one of them teased hitting Cole with a steel bar, the lights went out and when they came back on, Cole was sitting alongside the masked individuals with a menacing look on his face.

The masked men then revealed their identities: Wardlow, Roderick Strong, and The Kingdom’s Matt Taven and Mike Bennett – the latter of which presumably being the duo who dethroned MJF of the ROH World Tag Team Championship on Dynamite. As MJF got to his feet to express his confusion, all four of them quickly beat him down. Cole then took out The Devil’s mask and draped it over the now-former AEW World Champion’s prone body as the show went off the air.
