NWA Issues Correction, Reality Show To Air On The CW App

Haus of Wrestling was the first to report that Billy Corgan and the NWA had signed a pair of TV deals with The CW, one for Powerrr and another for a reality show. Not long after our reporting, Billy and the NWA presented a segment on their NWA Samhain PPV featuring Father James Mitchell, along with several wrestlers and extras doing cocaine. The CW was blown up with social media posts regarding the vignette, and we then reported that NWA content was expected to be moved to The CW app.

Earlier today, NWA commentator Joe Galli participated in an interview where he stated that the upcoming NWA reality series would air on TV while Powerrr would remain on The CW app. This was believable based on what I had heard regarding The CW’s interest in the NWA, which was largely centered around footage of Corgan’s wedding that is included in the reality show. Shortly after the publishing of our article summarizing Galli’s comments, however, the NWA issued the following correction.

IN A RECENT INTERVIEW, NWA LEAD ANNOUNCER JOE GALLI MISSPOKE IN STATING THAT THE NWA’S AS-YET UNNAMED AND UNSCRIPED SHOW WOULD AIR ON @THECW NETWORK’S BROADCAST CHANNEL. RATHER, THAT SAME UNSCRIPTED EFFORT WILL SOON PREMIERE ON @THECW STREAMING PLATFORM, WHICH NOTABLE WILL ALSO HOST FUTURE EPISODES OF NWA POWERRR STARTING FEBRUARY 6. THE CW APP IS FREE FOR DOWNLOAD, AND REQUIRES NO LOCAL CABLE PROVIDER FOR ACCESS TO THEIR GREAT LIBRARY OF SHOWS.

WWE NXT is set to debut on The CW network this October, and as we also initially reported about that move, the NWA’s infamous cocaine segment is believed to be what caused the network to reopen negotiations with WWE.
