The Rock Issues Statement On Joining TKO Board Of Directors

This past week was a roller coaster for WWE. It began with the announcement of a blockbuster deal that will bring WWE Raw to Netflix in January 2025. Following that, TKO Group Holdings, the parent company of WWE, announced that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson would be joining its Board of Directors. Not long after, a horrifying report by the Wall Street Journal detailed allegations by former WWE employee Janel Grant against Vince McMahon, John Laurinities, Brock Lesnar, and other unnamed members of the company.

Earlier today, Johnson shared a video and message on social media highlighting the day he was appointed to the TKO Group Holdings Board of Directors. The video features highlights from some of the TV interviews he did, along with footage of him walking the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, where he ran the opening bell alongside other TKO executives. McMahon was still with TKO at that time and was seen alongside Johnson as he rang the bell, but has largely been cropped out of Johnson’s video.

My honor to join @TKOGrp Board of Directors (parent co who owns @WWE @UFC)

An historic day of big business with deep and personal “life comes full circle” significance for me.

I have the privilege now to sit at the table, that my grandfather and my dad helped to build.

Now the fun part – we go to work.

We build.

Thanks to all you guys out there for your support and hype.

And thank you to my TKO/WWE partners-

Cody Rhodes won the Men’s WWE Royal Rumble on Saturday night, and all signs have pointed toward him challenging Undpisuted WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WWE WrestleMania 40. Last night on WWE Raw, however, the road to the biggest show of the year took a sharp turn. CM Punk announced that he was injured and was out of WWE WrestleMania 40, and Rhodes was confronted by WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freaking” Rollins. The Visionary made the case to The American Nightmare that it wasn’t Reigns he should challenge; it should be him. Now, it seems anything could happen in the WWE WrestleMania 40 main event picture.
