Tonight’s WWE NXT Vengeance Day premium live event kicked off with Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker, better known as The Wolfdogs, taking on Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes in the Men’s Dusty Rhodes Cup Finals. It was a hard-hitting match that saw Williams bleed from the mouth after several stiff shots. Ultimately, Corbin and Breakker emerged victorious after the latter drilled Hayes with a spear for the victory.
Following the match, Corbin and Breakker posed with the trophy outside the ring and posed for photos. Williams will return later tonight to face WWE NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov in the main event. Following Williams’ loss in the opening contest, questions swirl about what role Hayes could play in the WWE NXT Championship main event.
