Seth Rollins Lays Down Challenge To Shinsuke Nakamura

Last week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw ended with a surprising twist, as Shinsuke Nakamura blindsided Seth Rollins from behind after winning a match alongside him. The two men had just stood side-by-side with Cody Rhodes to take on The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor, Damian Priest, and WWE NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio. Following the devastating and unexpected Kinshasa to the back of the head of Rollins, Nakamura quietly left the ring and walked up the entrance ramp as a bewildered Rhodes looked on.

Just now, on WWE Raw, Nakamura participated in an in-ring segment with Michael Cole and addressed his attack on the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Unfortunately for fans who don’t speak Japanese, they were unable to understand most of what he said, but he did make it clear in English that he wants the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. When pressed about whether he had to attack Rollins in such a fashion, he again went off on a tirade in Japanese, but this time, Rollins cut him off with his entrance music.

Clad in white lace, the former architect of The Shield made his way to the ring to confront the man who betrayed him the week before. Before addressing The King of Strong Style directly, Rollins welcomed the rabid Canadian crowd to Raw, which elicited more singing of his theme song. Rollins admitted that Nakamura got the better of him the week before but fell short of believing the former NJPW star only attacked him because he has gold on his mind, hinting there could be jealousy as well.

Rollins went on to say that he is a fighting champion, and all Nakamura had to do was ask for a title shot if he wanted one. Now, after the way Nakamura acted, Rollins just wants to get even with him. So, the champion agreed to give Nakamura what he wants, a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and gave his new challenger the opportunity to pick the time and place for the confrontation.

Rollins ended the segment by asking for a handshake, which he got, and more, as Nakamura whispered something into The Visionary’s ear that left him looking shaken. As Rollins had his eye off the ball, Nakamura struck with a Kinshasa once again, leaving the champion lying.
