Cash Wheeler Enters Not Guilty Plea; More Details On His Arrest

Earlier today, word broke that AEW World Tag Team Champion Cash Wheeler, real name Daniel Wheeler, has been arrested on one count of aggravated assault with a firearm. He was booked in Circuit Court, but no other details were given. Haus of Wrestling has reviewed more court documents related to the case, and it appears that the initial offense happened on July 27, with a warrant being issued for Wheeler the following day.

A hearing was held for Wheeler earlier today on the charge, and he entered the following written not-guilty plea.

The undersigned attorney of The Umansky Law Firm, files this Notice of Appearance on behalf of the Defendant in the above-styled cause. The Defendant, by and through the undersigned attorney, hereby waives appearance for purposes of Arraignment and enters a plea of Not Guilty to the charges filed in this cause. The Defendant hereby requests a Jury Trial on the said charges and requests a copy of the Information filed against the Defendant.

It is worth noting that an information request in regard to the arrest warrant has been submitted, so it is possible we get more information on what led to Wheeler’s arrest in the coming hours. He is currently scheduled for a hearing at 1 pm EST today.

As noted, Wheeler is one-half of the AEW World Tag Team Champions alongside his partner, Dax Harwood. The two men are currently scheduled to take on The Young Bucks in a rubber match at AEW All In next weekend in London. The event has already sold more than 80,000 tickets and is on the verge of becoming the most-attended pro wrestling event of all time.
