Tonight’s episode of WWE Raw takes place in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, and things started off hot as Sami Zayn greeted the crowd to open the show. Zayn, a native Canadian, was wildly cheered, and the fans in attendance sang his theme song for nearly five minutes as he silently took it all in. Following a few words in French welcoming everyone to the show, the mood quickly shifted as The Judgment Day’s music hit, and they made their way to the ring.
Finding himself surrounded, Zayn let the villainous faction know that he did not come back to his home country alone, leading the way for Kevin Owens to make his triumphant return to WWE TV. The two men quickly picked apart the black and purple faction before Owens grabbed the microphone to level a challenge for later in the night: Any two members of The Judgment Day versus them for the Undisputed WWE World Tag Team Championships.
Owens has been off WWE TV since mid-July, when it was revealed he was suffering from a fractured rib. He quietly, or not so quietly, returned to the WWE fold this past Friday night at the Smackdown taping when he, Zayn, and Drew McIntyre defeated Imperium in a six-man tag team post-show dark match. The match was made official when the three babyfaces ran to the aid of Edge, who was about to be attacked by the WWE Intercontinental Champion and his stablemates.
