MJF Pens Lengthy Defense Of Antisemitic AEW Angle

Last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday went head-to-head with WWE NXT, and one of the most talked about segments is garnering controversy. Bullet Club Gold is embroiled in a feud with MJF and recently stole his coveted “Triple B” AEW Championship. In a promo exchange on last night’s Dynamite, Juice Robinson said that he will win next week’s Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royal, and after he does, he will give Friedman a gift, a roll of quarters with his name on it.

The line was rooted in an antisemitic story Friedman opened up about in an emotional Dynamite promo last year. In it, he recalled having quarters thrown at him as a child and being called “Jew boy.” It was noted on commentary after Robinson’s line that it was intended to reference that promo. Earlier today, Friedman took to social media and confirmed the line’s intent while supporting the Jewish community, grieving following Hamas’ attacks on Israel.

Now, Friedman is taking his defense of the angle even further, writing the following on social media.

“Muhammad Hassan was portraying an evil Muslim terrorist,” he began. “I’m actually Jewish. I’ve actually gone through this. This is my real life!!!!! MY STORY! And I Look forward to giving Catharsis to every single person who’s ever been oppressed or bullied. If you think I’d play with that or take it lying down or WORST OF ALL Hide from the hard conversations like a coward… You’re on crazy pills.

“I look forward to the hard conversations this starts and creates. I look forward to people being further educated. My life’s work is to stand up to any and all injustices done to people due to something as Stupid as being different. To anyone that thinks that can’t be done through the avenue of professional wrestling. Then that’s an indictment on things that have happened in this sports past. I look forward to bringing this sport into the present. I look forward to knocking Juice Robinson’s teeth down his throat. And most of all I look forward to getting back the Triple B!”

AEW President Tony Khan has liked the tweet on X.
