Stardom’s Mariah May Makes AEW Dynamite Debut

After months of rumors regarding Mariah May and AEW, the former Stardom performer made her during tonight’s broadcast of AEW Dynamite. Backstage correspondent RJ City introduced May as the latest addition to the roster, revealing that she has officially signed with the promotion. AEW CEO Tony Khan then confirmed May’s signing on X. During her onscreen appearance, May shared a little bit about her wrestling history before stating that she was a big fan of City’s work in the recent Toni Storm vignettes.

“[Toni Storm] is the reason I’m here,” May said, speaking fast and with clear excitement. “I went to Japan because Toni went to Japan, and now Toni’s in AEW, so I’m in AEW.”

City then informed May that Storm had unfortunately left the building for the night, but the Hey! EW host promised to introduce May to the former AEW Women’s World Champion during next week’s episode of Dynamite. This declaration left May so excited that she shrieked and kissed City on the cheek.

Earlier on Dynamite, Storm appeared in a pre-taped contract signing segment, sitting down with current champion Hikaru Shida ahead of their match at AEW Full Gear on November 18. The segment, filmed in black and white, featured Storm laying out the reasons why she harbors a grudge against Shida; primarily, Shida prevented Storm from getting her big moment walking into AEW All In as champion.

In addition to Stardom, May has made appearances in RevPro, CZW, and more. It seems likely she’ll be paired up with Storm as a superfan to complement Storm’s classic Hollywood persona.
