Tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown will feature CM Punk appearing on the brand for the first time in nearly ten years. It will also be a Tribute To The Troops-themed episode that could be filled with a few surprises. Notably, in his return promo to the promotion, Punk mentioned a “wise man” who gave him good advice before leaving the promotion a decade ago. Of course, there is only one “wise man” in WWE at the moment, and that is Paul Heyman, with whom Punk could very likely share screen time tonight.
WrestleVotes has just shared the following on X ahead of tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
“I’m told CM Punk’s in-ring segment tonight on SmackDown will focus on his desire to “main event” WrestleMania 40,” they revealed. “It’s clobbering time….”
Interestingly, Punk will tease his desire to main event WrestleMania 40 on SmackDown while he has a WWE Raw contract offer he will field on Monday night. At the moment, reports indicate that Punk will feud with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freaking” Rollins before moving onto a program with Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. If those reports are to be believed, it could be a very, very busy road to WrestleMania for The Second City Saint.
