Tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown officially kicked off with Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns rolling up to the arena with Paul Heyman. Reigns was short on screen time and words before he made his way into the arena, and the camera cut to the first match. Kevin Owens and Santos Escobar got things going action-wise in the finals of the WWE United States Championship Tournament, with the winner taking on Logan Paul at the WWE Royal Rumble.
Before the contest could get underway, Paul’s music hit, and the bombastic viral star made his way to the ringside area to take in the action. In the end, it was Owens who picked up the victory and earned a shot at Paul later this month. Following the win, Paul began to make his way into the ring to confront Owens while also throwing verbal shots at his home country of Canada, hosting the show.
Eventually, Owens could not take Paul’s jaw-jacking anymore and jacked his jaw with a big KO punch, leaving him lying. Later, Paul could be seen backstage licking his wounds and getting words of encouragement from Grayson Waller, who ate a punch from Owens this past Tuesday on WWE NXT.
