Cora Jade Returns To WWE NXT Following Iron Survivor Match

WWE NXT Deadline is in full swing, and moments ago, Blair Davenport won the women’s Iron Survivor match, securing a WWE NXT Women’s Championship opportunity. Following the match, as Davenport celebrated in the ring with a brief promo, WWE NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria appeared at the top of the ramp. Valkyria lifted her title over her head in a sign of dominance, but she was quickly taken out from behind by a returning Cora Jade. The young star then picked up the championship and posed over her downed body.

Jade’s last WWE NXT match was a Kendo Stick match against Dana Brooke on July 25. Jade lost the bout and then fell off of WWE NXT TV. This past week, WWE featured a QR code on the NXT commentators’ desk that took fans to a landing page advertising NXT Deadline. If fans clicked a button in the middle of the screen, Jade’s voice could be heard saying, “See you there,” teasing her impending return.

Tonight’s show also saw CM Punk appearing in WWE NXT for the first time. While appearing in the ring alongside Shawn Michaels, he noted that while Raw and SmackDown are options for him, he may very well sign with the yellow and black brand. Following the segment, Dragon Lee successfully faced Dominik Mysterio for the WWE NXT North American Championship, ending The Judgment Day member’s second reign.
