Backstage WWE News On Name & Plans For Bobby Lashley Stable (Updated)

Update: Bobby Lashley appears to have confirmed that the name of his SmackDown stable with The Street Profits is called THE PRIDE. He notes he is the leader of the group in his X profile.

Bobby Lashley began to bring The Street Profits’ Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins under his wing on WWE SmackDown last summer. In the time since, the trio has become a dominant force on Friday nights, feuding with the LWO, The Judgment Day, The Brawling Brutes, and other top WWE acts. On the latest episode of SmackDown, they were attacked by a new faction consisting of Karrion Kross, Scarlett, Authors Of Pain, and their manager, Paul Ellering. Interestingly, despite their prominence and success, the Lashley and the Profits’ stable has yet to be given a name.

WrestleVotes reports that the planned name for the group is The Pride. It was noted that there were plans to announce the group’s name this past Friday night, but for some unexplained reason, they were scrapped. Apparently, “the direction of the trio” could be shifting, and not announcing their name could be due to that.

At a media event during WWE SummerSlam 2022 weekend, I had the chance to ask Ford about the pairing and why the three men came together.

“I think it’s just two guys just following someone they watched and idolized growing up, you know?” he began. “He’s taking us under his wing, you know? He’s been under this realm for a long time, and he’s had a lot of success, and maybe us following him could obtain to us obtaining more success. At least, that’s the way I see it, you know?”

Lashley is a two-time WWE Champion, two-time ECW Champion, two-time Intercontinental Champion, and three-time United States Champion, among his many accolades. His last WWE TV match took place on the December 15, 2023, episode of SmackDown, losing to Santos Escobar in the United States Championship Tournament Sem-Finals.

The Street Profits are former Raw, SmackDown, and NXT Champions, making them the second WWE Triple Crown Tag Team Champions. Their last WWE TV match took place on the November 24, 2023, episode of SmackDown, losing to Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Judgment Day, Damian Priest and Finn Balor.
